Dining Hall Cook

 

Do you have large batch, catering, dining hall or commercial cooking experience? If so, The Adrian Dominican Sisters are accepting applications for a Full Time Cook for their Motherhouse Campus in Adrian, MI.

 

In this role you will be responsible for: Preparing daily large batch meals as determined by the day's menu. Cooking and preparing meals served to campus employees, Sisters and guests in several buffet and service style dining room locations across campus. You will work as a team with dining room aides to provide meals and dining services within the dining facilities on campus.

Pay starts at 12.75/hr.

 

Day/Evening shifts of either 6am 2:30pm or 10:30am 7pm. Weekends and holidays as needed. 35-40 hours a week.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for opening or closing the department.
  2. Responsible for checking and recording temperatures of all freezers and refrigeration.
  3. Responsible to report any malfunctions to Supervisor and maintenance department, as necessary.
  4. Responsible for breakfast, lunch or dinner prep according to posted menu and production sheets.
  5. Responsible for break-down, labeling and storage of any leftovers from the meal period.
  6. Responsible for maintaining proper quantity of food available as requested by dining room attendant.
  7. Responds appropriately to safety hazards and/or emergencies following written campus procedures.
  8. Complies with all safety and health policies and procedures while performing duties.
  9. Responsible for any additional duties as scheduled or requested by the director or his/her designee.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required. Further studies towards and associates degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience as a cook.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Friendly, service-oriented attitude and the ability to interact and work with diverse co-workers.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage stressful situations and time constraints.

Physical:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk up to 8-hours per day.
  • Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, reach, and carry approximately 35 pounds.
  • Must be sighted and capable of hearing.
