Administrative Assistant - Part time

The Adrian Dominican Sisters are looking for a Part Time Administrative Assistant to assist in the Chapter Prioress's office on the Motherhouse campus in Adrian, MI. We are a congregation of vowed Catholic women and this position supports administrative functions in a small office environment working alongside Sisters and leadership to manage and maintain membership related events and planning. 

You will be responsible for: Assisting the Chapter Prioress in managing the administrative aspects of the office by maintaining financial information, preparing reports, drafting communications, recording and distributing meeting minutes, filing, answering phones and other related duties.

Pay: starts at 11.96/hr. with increase after 90 days.

Hours: Part time, Monday - Friday. Approximately 20 hours a week.

  • Manage Chapter Office, phones, filing systems, supply orders and inventory.
  • Maintain membership files and listings.
  • Assist in planning and organizing Chapter events and celebrations.
  • Maintain financial records, prepare budgets, and reconcile financials.
  • Assist with monthly newsletter, process and handle mail, maintain contacts and email.
  • Update membership listings, change forms and congregation directories.
  • Manage Durable Power of Attorney (DPOA) and other pertinent information from Emergency Medical, Finance and Home forms for Chapter membership.
  • Manage driving lists, testing requirement reminders and assist Sisters with obtaining Driver's licenses.
  • Prepare and mail/email Christmas cards, monthly newsletters, sympathy and thank you cards, birthday cards.
  • Assist Chapter Prioress in communicating information about wake/memorial/funeral arrangements and distributing Sister's personal items to designated offices.
  • Distribute, log and file individual and Mission Group annals.



Education:    Must have high school diploma; college level education is preferred

Experience:   Two to three years of office administration experience required

Skills:  Good communication and organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and     proficient in Microsoft Office programs and the use of all office equipment.

Physical:  Able to sit for long periods of time, able to move from location to location on campus.  Must be sighted and capable of hearing
